Setup

How to set up VoiceSync in your server.

Steps

• Type in the /setup command in any channel.
• You can customize the name for your category, join channel, logs channel, user limit and default bitrate for voice channels created in that setup, and also choose a naming pattern.
• Optional: use Advanced Setup when the bot joins your server (or run /setup as-is) to customize more options during creation.
• Optional: you can run the /setup command as it is and edit your settings later using the /settings setup command.

Note: VoiceSync is slash-command only. Prefix commands are no longer supported.

Temporary Moderators

Temporary moderators let someone else help manage your voice channel without giving them full ownership.

Managing temporary mods

• Add a temporary mod with /vc temp add while in your voice channel.
• Remove one with /vc temp remove.
• View your current temporary mods with /vc temp list.
• Configure what temporary moderators can do with /vc temp manage while in your voice channel.
• You can also customize temporary mod permissions through the in-voice interface.

Server-wide control

• Admins can disable temporary moderators per setup using /toggle set feature:tempmod enabled:false.

Autoban

Autoban lets you permanently block specific users from joining any voice channel you own. Once someone is on your autoban list, VoiceSync automatically keeps them out across every server that uses the bot.

Managing your list

• Add a user with /autoban add. You can include an optional reason.
• Remove a user with /autoban remove.
• View, paginate, remove individual entries, or clear the whole list with /autoban list.
• While in a voice channel, you can also use /autoban add, /autoban remove, or /autoban list.
• Use the Autoban button on the in-voice interface to pick a user and add them with an optional reason.
• You can manage your autoban list from the dashboard under your profile’s Autoban list.

Smart autoban prompts

• If you manually ban the same user multiple times in a short period, VoiceSync may ask whether you want to add them to your autoban list so future channels are handled automatically.
• Press Add to Autoban on the prompt to add them instantly.

Slots & tiers

• Every user starts with 5 autoban slots for free.
• Paid tiers raise that limit: Guardian (25), Gatekeeper (35), Warden (45), and Overseer (unlimited).
• See Autoban tiers for upgrade options.

Notes

• Autobans are global—listed users cannot join your voice channels in any VoiceSync server.
• Bots cannot be added to your autoban list.
• When a voice channel is claimed or transferred, ban and permit overwrites from the previous owner are cleared. Autobanned users may briefly rejoin before the new owner’s list is enforced again.
• After removing someone from autoban, you may still need to /vc unban or /vc permit them in an active channel.

Toggling features

Use the toggle commands to enable or disable features for your server.

Steps

• Use /toggle set feature: enabled: to choose a feature and set it to enabled or disabled.
• Use /toggle list to view all toggleable features and their current status.
• Features such as temporary moderators, bitrate, and delete can be disabled per setup using /toggle set feature:tempmod enabled:false (replace tempmod with the feature name).

Looking for Members (LFM)

Use LFM to share what you are looking for with members in your server. VoiceSync sends the post to the LFM channel configured for your setup.

For users: create an LFM post

1. Join the temporary voice channel you want the post to represent.
2. Run /vc lfm.

Configuration

1. Open /settings setup for the VoiceSync setup you want to configure.
2. Set the LFM channel option to the text channel where LFM posts should be sent.
3. Make sure VoiceSync can view the channel and send messages there.
4. Enable the feature for that setup with /toggle set feature:lfm enabled:true.

You can configure the same settings from the dashboard: open the setup, choose Setup Channels, select the LFM channel, then open Moderation and enable LFM.

Related NSFW setting

The NSFW toggle command /vc nsfw switches the current temporary voice channel between NSFW and normal. It is separate from the NSFW choice inside the LFM modal.

• Enable or disable it per setup with /toggle set feature:nsfw enabled:true.
• It is also available under the dashboard’s Moderation settings.

Level roles

Level roles let admins assign and manage roles users receive at specific levels.

Commands

• /level add level: role: — assign a role to a specific level.
• /level remove level: — remove the role assigned to a specific level.
• /level list — view your configured level-role mappings.
• /level mode: stacking or replace — choose whether users keep lower level roles or only keep their highest one.

User Follow

User Follow lets you request to follow another member in voice. Once they accept, VoiceSync automatically moves you with them whenever they switch voice channels.

Following someone

• Join a voice channel, then run /vc follow user with the slash command picker.
• The target receives a DM with Accept, Decline, and Block buttons.
• If they accept, you stay linked to them until you run /vc unfollow or either of you leaves the server.

Blocking follow requests

• When someone sends you a follow request, press Block on the DM to decline and add them to your follow block list.
• To block someone before they request, use /vc follow. You can add an optional reason.
• To remove a block, use /vc follow unblock.
• To view or manage your list, use /vc follow blocks. From there you can remove individual users or clear the entire list.
• You can also manage follow blocks from the dashboard under your profile’s Block list.

Disabling follow requests entirely

• Run /profile and press the Follows button to turn follow requests off.
• When disabled, other people cannot follow you or send you follow requests.
• You can still follow others—disabling this only stops people from following you.

Note: Follow blocks are global—blocked users cannot send you follow requests in any server. You cannot block yourself or bots.

Voice XP & Leaderboards

Voice XP is earned by spending time in voice channels. VoiceSync tracks both server-specific XP and global stats across every server that uses the bot.

Viewing your server XP

• Run /vc xp while in a voice channel to view your XP and level for the current server.
• You can also check another member’s server XP with /vc xp user:.

Viewing your global stats

• Run /profile to view your global voice stats, including global XP, level, camera time, channels created, and more.
• You can also view another user’s global profile with /profile user:.

Leaderboards

• Run /leaderboards in the channel where you want automated leaderboards posted.
• VoiceSync will keep those leaderboards updated as members earn XP.

Disabling pings

When you level up in voice, VoiceSync can post a level-up embed and ping you in the level-up channel. You can turn that ping off if you prefer not to be mentioned.

From your profile

• Run /profile and press the Notifications button to toggle level-up pings on or off.
• When disabled, you will not receive a ping on level-up messages, but your level-up embed is still posted.

Using the command

• You can also use /notifications status:On or /notifications status:Off to change this setting.

Guild settings

How to customize your server's settings.

Steps

• Type in the /settings guild command in any channel to customize your server's settings.
• Choose a role for your staff to moderate voice channels.
• Choose a language for bot responses (English, Arabic, or Ukrainian).
• Choose a color for your embeds. (this is the color of the embeds that will be sent.)

Setup settings

How to customize your setup's settings.

Steps

• Type in the /settings setup command in any channel to customize your setup's settings.
• Choose which setup to edit. (based on join channel)
• This will allow you to edit almost everything in your setup, including interface, interface message, channel placement, naming pattern, logs, and more.
• Use placement to choose where new temporary VCs appear in the category: at the top, under the join channel, or at the bottom.
• Use interface to enable or disable the in-voice interface for this setup only.
• Use webhook to enable or disable VC activity logs for a setup. Provide a Discord webhook URL to turn logs on; leave it empty to turn logs off. If you set a logs channel, you must also pass a webhook URL in the same command. Copy the URL from Channel Settings → Integrations → Webhooks.
• Use bitrate to set the default audio bitrate (in kbps) for new voice channels in this setup. If left unset, new channels use your server’s maximum allowed bitrate. You can also adjust this in the dashboard under Channel Settings.

VC Permissions

When you create a setup, VoiceSync needs to know which permission set new temporary voice channels should inherit.

Steps

• Run /settings setup in any channel.
• Select the setup you want to edit (based on join channel).
• Choose whether new voice channels inherit permissions from the category or the join-to-create channel.
• Pick the option that matches how you want access to work for your members.

Tip: If you want stricter control over who can join created channels, set permissions on the join-to-create channel or category first, then choose the matching inheritance option here.

Customizing your name pattern

Running /settings setup and choosing naming allows you to set up custom names for your voice channels. You have four variables:

• {user} — the user's username
• {display} — the channel owner's display name
• {counter} — the number of the created voice channel
• {privacy} — a custom naming pattern that gives each voice channel a unique complex name

Each variable can be used once in a naming pattern.

Examples

• Voice Channel {counter} → Voice Channel 4
• VC {counter} → VC 4
• {display}'s VC → Cxla's VC
• {user} is stupid → undefinedvar is stupid

Customizing your interface message

Running /settings setup and choosing interface_message allows admins to set a custom message for the in-voice interface per setup.

Steps

• Type in /settings setup in any channel.
• Select which setup to edit (based on join channel).
• Select the interface_message option.
• Enter the custom message you want the in-voice interface to show.
• You can use {mention} to mention the user in the message.
• You can use {ping} to add a ping in the message.

Bot settings

Steps

• Type in the /settings bot command in any channel to customize your bot's settings.
• Choose a custom nickname for your bot.
• Choose a custom bio for your bot.
• Choose a custom avatar for your bot.
• Choose a custom banner for your bot.

Viewing your settings

How to view your server's and setup's settings.

Steps

• Type in the /settings view command in any channel to view your settings.
• This will show you all the settings you have customized for your server, setups and the bot.
